Millions of musicians are stuck at home because of the coronavirus, unable to jam, unable to help. Well now you can. The Quarantines project is a way for musicians to connect with each other, have some fun, and raise money to help people in this time of crisis.
Have you ever played the game “Exquisite Corpse”? It’s usually a drawing game, but it can be played musically too. Just record an instrument track, and pass it on to the next musician to add to—You might end up with a musical masterpiece, you might end up with something silly, but you’ll end up with something that helps someone in need.
How to participate:
Step 1: Connect with musicians on The Quarantines message board (thequarantines.proboards.com) or on Our Facebook
Step 2: record your instruments based on one of the Exquisite Corpse versions rules (seen here)
Step 3: send your final, mixed song as a wav file to thequarantinesproject@gmail.com with the subject “Song for charity – [title]”. Include all credits in the body of he email, as we will directly copy and paste this info into the Bandcamp link.
Step 4: share the link on your social media—all proceeds will be donated to the Direct Relief charity to help medical workers!
All songs will be uploaded to: thequarantinesproject.bandcamp.com
So what are you waiting for? Get started today!
Exquisite Corpse rules:
All songs need at least 4 participants. Choose which version you want to play to help those in need.
Send this message to a musician: "thequarantines.proboards.com says TAG YOUR IT #thequarantinesproject #exquisitecorpse".
You can also find musicians to play with by posting in this forum.
